Phase III: Australia's Greatest Racing Homologation

The XY Falcon GTHO Phase III is arguably the most significant Australian road car ever produced. Built to homologate Ford's Bathurst racing programme, just over 300 Phase III sedans were manufactured before a sensationalist news story prompted the government to consider banning performance cars, effectively ending the model's development.
This example, finished in Candy Apple Red, has been in continuous Newcastle ownership and was authenticated by the Falcon GT Owners Club of Australia following a full mechanical inspection in 2019. The 351 Cleveland V8 and 4-speed Top-Loader gearbox retain matching numbers, and the car runs and drives as it should.
A professional repaint was carried out in 2011 using the original Candy Apple Red formula, documented in the history file. Mechanically, the car remains in exceptional condition for its age and has been stored in a climate-controlled environment for the past six years.
